The Hawks’ NBA G League affiliate will go from the BayHawks to the Skyhawks.

Hawks CEO Steve Koonin announced on Thursday the name of the franchise that will be based in College Park for the 2019-20 season and play in the new Gateway Center.

The Hawks’ current G League affiliate plays in Erie, Pa. but will move operations to College Park. The Hawks are one of 25 NBA teams to own their G League affiliate.

“We are excited to introduce the Skyhawks to College Park and bring the future stars of the Atlanta Hawks and our one-of-a-kind entertainment to the Gateway Center,” Koonin said in a statement released by the team after the announcement.
