The Hawks have assigned Lamar Patterson to the NBA Development League. The rookie guard/forward will be assigned a team via the league’s flexible assignment system and his destination will likely be known later today. Patterson’s initial stint is expected to last only several games.
Patterson, a 2014 second-round draft pick, has appeared in seven of the Hawks’ 10 games. He has averaged 2.4 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 13 minutes.
The Hawks recently assigned rookie center Edy Tavares to the D-League and he will play for the Austin Spurs Friday and Saturday.
