The College Park Skyhawks, the G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, open their season Friday night. Ahead of the opener, the Hawks have assigned rookie forward Jalen Johnson to College Park, while transferring Two-Way guards Sharife Cooper and Skylar Mays to the Skyhawks as well.
Johnson and Mays have both appeared in three games this season for the Hawks, albeit in a mop-up role late in games. Cooper has appeared twice in similar fashion, including opening night at home vs. the Dallas Mavericks.
Mays appeared in 33 games for the Hawks last season as a depth option in the backcourt after the Hawks suffered a myriad of midseason injuries on the wing.
