Grant Hill, former star NBA player who played for the likes of Detroit, Orlando and Phoenix, has been retired from the NBA for three years. As many other fellow NBA retirees land a job within the NBA-or college, or maybe even in broadcasting, Hill went an alternative route; linking up with a financial group led by Tony Ressler to buy the Atlanta Hawks for a reported $850 million. While being an NBA owner has its perks, it can be difficult, too, in which the likes of owners such as Michael Jordan have gotten the brunt of blame for the disfunction of his franchise (Charlotte Hornets).
