At first glance, Gary Neal — a pending free-agent guard of the Minnesota Timberwolves — is a bit of a train-wreck.
During his stint with the San Antonio Spurs (2010-13), Neal, a 30 year old shooting guard, dotted Gregg Popovich’s landscape with ill-advised three-point attempts, a lack of systematic awareness, and some shoddy defense. Neal had his moments in a Spurs uniform but, overall, his tenure in San Antonio was less-than spectacular.
In Milwaukee (2013-14), Neal was a seldom-used piece on a horrid team. He averaged 10 points on 39-percent shooting in 20 minutes per-game.
