It took 11 days for the Atlanta Hawks to sign Kris Humphries to a one-year, $4 million contract. Considering all of the monster contracts that were being thrown around to role players this summer, that the deal with Humphries came as very low-risk, high-reward situation.
Last season in 21 games for the Hawks, Humphries played spot-minutes, 14 per game to be exact. During those opportunities, he averaged 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Last summer, Humphries had to almost completely re-create his offensive abilities. Heading into the 2015-16 season with the Washington Wizards who were determined to play more of a small-ball and stretch-4, Humphries spent the majority of the offseason developing a three-point shot in order to make the final roster.
