Just one day after making the signing of Isaac Humphries official, the Atlanta Hawks announced on Tuesday that the former Kentucky big man was waived. This was not a surprise given that the decision to extend the contract (likely featuring an Exhibit 10 clause) was to secure Humphries’ G League rights in the future.
With the training camp roster spot created by the maneuver, the Hawks then announced the signing of former UMass guard C.J. Anderson. This move mirrors that of what the organization did with Humphries, as Anderson participated in workouts at Atlanta’s facility prior to Media Day and would provide another G League option in the likely event that he does not make the Opening Day roster.
