After a masterful two-game sample, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks has been named the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Week for the first week of the season. Young carried the Hawks to two wins against playoff teams last season, and he did so in virtuosic fashion.
Young’s numbers to start the year are patently absurd, as the 21-year-old point guard is averaging 38.5 points per game, 9 assists per game and 7 rebounds per game on a masterful 72.6 percent true shooting percentage with a whopping 38.8 percent usage rate.
The Hawks offense is pretty much: Let Trae Young do what he wants, and, you know what?
