The Atlanta Hawks have recently begun signing players to minimum deals in order to prepare for training camp. Though many of these players will likely not make the roster, it’s nice to see the team taking chances on low-cost players that might have slivers of untapped upside.
The team recently made moves that followed in this vein. The team nabbed former #5 overall pick Thomas Robinson, as well as hometown hero of Georgia State fame R.J. Hunter to minimum, “prove-it” deals that will likely only run through training camp.
Similarly, it has been reported that the Atlanta Hawks have signed veteran big man Cole Aldrich to a deal ahead of training camp.
