Since 1999, the Atlanta Hawks have played their home games in Philips Arena. However, the team’s 20-year agreement with Philips for the arena naming rights is set to come to an end after the upcoming 2018-2019 season and Zach Klein of WSB-TV brought word on Wednesday that a new partnership has been secured.
The report indicates that Philips Arena will be renamed as State Farm Arena and the price tag is said to be “worth more than $175 million” over a 20-year period.
While a formal announcement has not been made at this juncture, it comes as no surprise that the Hawks would secure a replacement sponsor on the heels of the Philips contract.
