The Atlanta Hawks have made it to the second round of the playoffs by dispatching the New York Knicks in just five games. This is not too surprising given that the Hawks were a different team under Nate McMillan. He took over just prior to the All-Star break and the team did not look back.
McMillan took the Hawks from 11th position at this time to finish fifth in the Eastern Conference, not getting the fourth seed only due to losing the season series against the Knicks.
