It took some weird roster movement for the Atlanta Hawks to make their final roster move of the season. The Golden State Warriors signed Jose Calderon to a contract on March 3rd, 2017.
About two hours later, Calderon was released. Hours later, the Hawks became the front-runners to sign the 35-year old Spanish point guard. Only one day after being cut from the Warriors (after being cut from the Lakers), Calderon became an Atlanta Hawk.
He did not play in either of the first two games since he was signed (3/5/17 vs Pacers, 3/6/17 vs Warriors), so his Phillips Arena debut as a Hawk wouldn’t come until March 8th against the Brooklyn Nets.
