While the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic started the season quite differently – with the Magic roaring out to a strong start and the the Hawks sputtering out to a 15-games-under-.500 start, the two teams are a bit closer in the standings these days (to both teams’ fanbases’ chagrin).
The Magic are currently on the threshold of the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference, though there are a cluttered clump of teams sitting around that eighth seed at the moment with the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons (and Washington Wizards?) all vying for a trip to the Eastern Conference playoffs (where all of them will get smoked by the Toronto Raptors or Milwaukee Bucks).
