With the defeat, Atlanta has now officially been swept in it’s season series against Minnesota 2-0.
The major difference in Wednesday night’s contest was the production of Minnesota’s bench. The Timberwolves’ reserves outscored Atlanta’s 58-18.
That’s a staggering +40 advantage for the Minnesota bench.
Overall, the Timberwolves were led in scoring by reserve Guard Zack Lavine. Lavine had 18 on the evening.
Minnesota also received strong backup performances from Gorgiu Dieng (10 points) and seldom used Damjan Rudez (13 points) who came into Wednesday night’s contest averaging just 0.8 points per game.
Andrew Wiggins’ 15 points led all Minnesota starters in scoring.
