DS17 is one of only three players (Mike Muscala and Kent Bazemore being the others) who remains from the Hawks’ incredible 60-win team in 2014-15, and as an old hand in “Hawks University,” he took on a mantle of leadership for the team this season – helping to guide the young players with a veteran’s poise.
Schrod’s leadership was surely well-intended, but some of his worst scoring tendencies were also on display, as he was the team’s number one option for the first time in his career, and some of the numbers were unkind to him in that role.
