The Atlanta Hawks decided not to re-sign Dewayne Dedmon last off-season, even with the center coming off what was by far his best season as a pro. He did earn a big payday from another team, as he signed a 3-year, $40 million deal with the Sacramento Kings a week into free agency.
His time with the Kings was as turbulent as it was short, with Dedmon quickly losing his spot in his rotation and publicly asking for a trade back in January.
A few teams were interested in his services, but it was the Hawks who landed him, making him the second center the team acquired in as many days at the deadline.
