The Atlanta Hawks led throughout, en route to defeating visiting Southeast Division rival Orlando 98-81 on MLK Day 2016.
On a poignant day of NBA basketball -centered around celebrating the remarkable life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.- the Hawks handed the Orlando Magic a third-consecutive defeat.
Atlanta never trailed in a matinee contest in which the teams’ bench provided all the appropriate horsepower. The Hawks’ reserve unit contributed a staggering 47 points, 19 assists and 17 rebounds on the night. Atlanta’s backups outscored their starting counterparts by a plus-five margin.
Al Horford led all Hawk’s scorers with 15 points.
