Atlanta grabbed an early double-digit lead in the first quarter, but Brooklyn climbed back into the game in the second quarter and cut the Hawks' lead to 51-45 at the half. However, Atlanta broke the game WIDE open in the second half and cruised to the easy victory.
Turning Point:
The Hawks opened the third quarter on a 20-3 run and outscored Brooklyn 41-21 in the frame, turning a close game into a total blowout.
Key Stat:
Atlanta's incredible ball-movement was the difference in this one as their 34 assists and motion offense confused Brooklyn's defense all night.
Atlanta MVP:
Paul Millsap (25 points, nine assists) and Kyle Korver (20 points, 6/9 from three) put up the biggest numbers for the Hawks, but it was Jeff Teauge (13 assists) that was the driving force behind their offensive explosion.
Brooklyn MVP:
Brook Lopez was Brooklyn's only player that had a good game, scoring 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
