Younghoe Koo has been chasing history all season, turning in one of the most impressive campaigns from a kicker in team history. With his late second quarter field goal against the Buccaneers, which extended Atlanta’s lead to 17-0, Koo tied Matt Bryant for the most made field goals in a single season in franchise history. He got there with 2.5 games to go.
Bryant set that franchise mark twice, back in 2016 and the following season in 2017. Koo has a long way to go if he’s going to catch Bryant for the title of best kicker in franchise history—a title I think is pretty uncontroversial at this point—but he doesn’t have very far at all to go if he wants to put forth the best season from a kicker in team history.
