The Atlanta Falcons are still managing the loss of key defensive players Bralen Trice and Demarcco Hellams in the first preseason game. While Trice is a rookie, and Hellams is a sophomore, the Falcons planned on both young players playing crucial roles in their defensive schemes. With Hellams expected to miss significant time with an ankle injury, and Trice out for the season with an ACL tear, it wasn’t clear if the Falcons planned on working with the talent they had on the roster, or making a significant splash and acquiring players to fill those roles.
