The wait is over. Falcons football is officially back. For the first time since 2018, there is legitimate excitement about the direction of the team. They have an excellent chance to end a long, frustrating playoff drought dating back to 2017, which happens to be the last time they won a season opener. While it will take consistent all-around moderately high-level play (moderate is one way to describe the NFC South) for the next five months to make the playoffs, they can end one of those disappointing streaks today against a divisional rival.
One of the most intriguing aspects of this divisional clash is how the Falcons will manage carries in an ultra-talented, crowded backfield.
