After 11 years in Washington's organization, vice president of player personnel Kyle Smith left to take a similar job with the Atlanta Falcons, becoming the second highest personnel executive behind new general manager Terry Fontenot.
Smith's departure comes a year after he was promoted to his current position and helped lead a successful draft and free agency period for Washington. There had been rumors about him possibly leaving for several months.
Smith now joins a franchise that has the fourth pick in the draft, a new general manager in Fontenot and a new coach in Arthur Smith.
