Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant took a break from his summer routine to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday’s Braves game. The 24-year-old, a baseball player in his younger days, delivered an arching strike to rookie Matt Wisler.
“I felt good,” said Trufant, who grew up in Tacoma, Wash., and cheered Mariners stars such as Ichiro Suzuki, Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey, Jr. “To get out there, it was a little farther than I thought it was, but (my pitch) was solid. It’s probably been 10 years since I threw a baseball, so I did pretty good.
