It all came together for Troy Andersen against the Saints. Flying around the field and animated by what I can only assume is a deep-seated hatred of New Orleans, Andersen piled up a league-high 16 tackles in Week 4, intercepted a tipped Derek Carr pass and returned it for a touchdown, and picked up a tackle for a loss. In coverage and as a run defender, Andersen showed for perhaps the first time in his career the caliber of player he can be, putting together a dominant performance that helped Atlanta win.
That was more than enough to earn him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors, his first (but hopefully not last) such honor.
