Defensive end Dwight Freeney will see increased snaps with Adrian Clayborn sidelined for the next couple of weeks with a knee injury, head coach Dan Quinn said.
Freeney did not practice on Wednesday, per usual, as the veteran uses this day of the week as a rest day.
Quinn’s strategy in limiting Freeney so far will pay dividends in the fact that the Falcons believe he is fresh and ready for more game action.
“We usually play him somewhere in the 20 to mid-30 [snap count], and we’ll ramp that up a bit, then we’ll just take it game-by-game from there,” Quinn said.
