Reports surfaced Thursday evening that former Atlanta Falcons’ outside linebacker Sean Weatherspoon was headed to the dirty south to have a sit-down dinner with head coach Dan Quinn and see if they could come to terms in a contract.
It didn’t take very long before the deal was complete.
Weatherspoon signed a 1-year contract with the Falcons according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and that was confirmed by Falcons’ beat writer Vaughn McClure shortly after.
Signing Weatherspoon to a 1-year, prove-it deal makes a ton of sense. He possesses that speed factor from the outside linebacker position and is a high-energy guy.
