The Atlanta Falcons have waived Jalen Collins

Per AtlantaFalcons.com’s Will McFadden, the Atlanta Falcons released defensive back Jalen Collins on Tuesday. Collins had just served a 10-game suspension for a PED violation, which was handed down in August.

Collins was eligible to play in Atlanta’s 34-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but did not take the field. Cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford have been the starters for the Falcons in 2017. Collins would have had a difficult time seeing the field with backup cornerback Brian Poole seeing more snaps.

Collins took some time to blossom as a productive cornerback for the Falcons in 2016 but finally found his stride throughout the course of the Falcons Super Bowl run last season.
