The Atlanta Falcons former franchise-ish left tackle Sam Baker is likely done with football. Alex Marvez of Fox Sports had the news.
Baker struggled to stay healthy while playing for Atlanta, but his play in the 2012 playoffs was a big reason the team offered him a $41 million contract with $18 million guaranteed. However, he only played four games across the first two seasons of that contract, and was cut early in this offseason.
According to the article, Baker's father believes that Sam is done with football.
David Baker, Sam's father and the Pro Football Hall of Fame president, told Gil Brandt and me Tuesday on SiriusXM NFL Radio that his son "probably just concluded his career" because of injuries that maligned him for most of the past seven seasons in Atlanta.
