FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons coach Dan Quinn, who had to manage a Super Bowl run and try to fill out a coaching staff, spoke with new Georgia coach Kirby Smart on the subject.
“Number one, I’m really excited for Kirby,” Quinn said. “This is a long overdue opportunity for him, and what a cool place for him to be up the road in Athens. Not only for a great job, but for his history there and playing there.”
Smart, who coached with Quinn on Nick Saban’s Miami Dolphins staff in 2006, has to get Alabama’s defense ready for the college playoffs, while trying to lay his foundation in Athens.
