January 17, 1999 was not an ordinary day. With a single swing of his magical left foot, Mort Anderson changed the Falcons forever. His 38-yard field goal in overtime sent the Falcons to their first Super Bowl game, an accomplishment Falcons fans had patiently awaited for 32 decidedly mediocre years.
