FLOWERY BRANCH — Former Houston linebacker Elandon Roberts, the defensive star of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, is creating a draft buzz leading up to the NFL draft, which is set for April 28-30 in Chicago.
In the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Roberts, a linebacker, helped Houston to limit Florida State running back Dalvin Cook to 33 yards on 18 carries, his lowest total in 19 games. Robert, 5-11, 234 pounds, finished with eight tackles as the Cougars upset the Seminoles 38-24.
Roberts was timed in 4.51 and 4.49 at his Pro Day. He bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times, had a vertical jump of 36.
