You may barely remember this now, but Matt Bosher was once not a beloved player. Through the first seven weeks of his rookie season back in 2011, Bosher didn’t average over 40 yards per punt, and had several impossibly weak efforts. Many fans called for the team to get rid of him, but to their eternal credit, they stuck it out with the young punter, and he averaged close to 50 yards per punt the rest of the way that year.
Since then, Bosher has quietly been one of the better punters in the NFL, with a strong leg and a willingness to tackle players he has absolutely no business trying to tackle.
