FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was not on the field for the start of Tuesday’s practice while dealing with a personal matter.
The team said Ryan’s matter is not related to injury. He was expected to participate in practice in some fashion if he makes it back from the personal matter in time.
The Falcons did not expand on the matter. Backup Matt Schaub stepped in with the first team offense until Ryan's return.
The Falcons hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Saturday’s divisional playoff game.
