The Atlanta Falcons made a major investment in Kirk Cousins, intending for the veteran quarterback to lift them out of the mediocrity they’ve been mired in all these years. The early returns were uneven, but it was only a matter of time until Cousins figured things out and got rolling, and in Week 5 Kirktober arrived.
After putting up four touchdowns and over 500 yards, breaking the single game franchise record for passing yardage, Cousins has snagged an NFC Offensive Player of the Week award. It’s the ninth time he’s earned that award in his long career, and (obviously) the first with the Falcons.
