After the 2016 draft the Atlanta Falcons hit pay dirt with undrafted free agent Brian Poole. In no time his tough tackling pushed him into the nickel spot under Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant. Things were great until they weren’t. The team told Poole in February he would not return, either via a tender or other deal.
Now he’s with the Jets on a decent one-year deal.
Cornerback Brian Poole agreed to a 1-year deal with the Jets for $3.5 million, per source. Poole was not tendered by the Falcons - rare for a player not tender to actually get more than the tender.
