The city of Atlanta had one major obstacle to overcome in its bid to host the Super Bowl.
That obstacle might have been cleared Monday when Gov. Nathan Deal announced his intentions to veto the controversial religious liberties bill that the NFL said could have cost Atlanta the Super Bowl because of the bill's anti-gay stance. Deal's decision already has met resistance, so the matter is not totally solved just yet.
If the final resolution means the dissolving of the bill, then Atlanta can proceed with its Super Bowl bid. And there is a good chance the next available Super Bowl during the 2019 season will be awarded to Atlanta based on the construction of the new $1.
