A matchup between the struggling Atlanta Falcons and injury-ridden, collapsing New York Giants would normally not be the kind of game everyone’s interested in watching. That all changed when the Falcons put Michael Penix into the starting lineup, electing to bench Kirk Cousins as they chase their dimming playoff hopes.
Penix’s debut, Riley Patterson taking over for an injured Younghoe Koo, and Atlanta’s ability to stay in the hunt in the NFC offer plenty of intrigue in this one, no matter how bad the Giants are. We’re not sure yet if we’ll see Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito under center for New York, but we know they have a still-capable pass rush despite their injuries, an intriguing rookie back in Tyrone Tracy, and a legitimate top-flight weapon in fellow rookie Malik Nabers.
