Former Atlanta Falcons strong safety Keion Carpenter collapsed and died after a run on Wednesday, his family said.
Carpenter, 39, played six NFL seasons, including his last three with the Falcons. He started 15 games in 2005, when he was a teammate of Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn. Both Carpenter and Vick attended Virginia Tech. Injuries plagued Carpenter during his career.
