Former Falcons running back William Andrews honored

Former Falcons’ running back William Andrews was recognized Sunday at the Georgia Dome during the Falcons game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Andrews, who was inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2004, set 19 records in his time with the Falcons. In his first game in 1979, Andrews ran 167 yards and recorded 189 total offensive yards against New Orleans.

A third round draft pick out of Auburn in 1979, Andrews played for the Falcons until 1983 and once again in 1986.
