Former Falcons defensive backs coach Charlie Jackson heads to college

The biggest offseason news for the Falcons, after hiring Dirk Koetter, is definitely Dan Quinn taking over the Falcons defense. Marquand Manuel was allowed to coach elsewhere, and the one other change was firing defensive assistant and defensive backs coach Charlie Jackson.

Per D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jackson is now the head coach for Kentucky State.

“Charlie Jackson is a leader in the highest sense,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “His ability to connect with players and coaches is remarkable. Charlie’s awareness for the situation and what’s needed at the crucial time will provide the team at Kentucky State a clear vision toward success in all areas.
