The last time the Falcons and Jets played, Atlanta reversed an ugly three game slide against the AFC East with a sloppy, gritty victory over the Jets in a rain-filled day in New Jersey. This time around, the stakes (though not the temperature) will be considerably lower.
Atlanta kicks off the 2018 preseason against the Jets, a transitioning team that will spend 2018 trying to stay out of the basement in the AFC East. It’ll be our first glimpse of highly-touted rookie quarterback Sam Darnold and a Jets defense that has been re-tooling for the last couple of years, and it’ll be interesting to see how they fare against a high-octane Falcons team, as well as a test of Atlanta’s depth.
