Often considered one of, if not the, greatest Falcon of all time, Mr. Nobis easily wins the award for greatest #60 in Falcons' history.
Tommy Nobis was the 1st overall pick by the then expansion team Atlanta Falcons in the 1966 NFL Draft. Coming out of Texas as an All-American linebacker, Nobis gave Atlanta it's first true superstar, earning Defensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors in his first season. Early recognition was largely due to his knack to find the ball-carrier, which led him to 294 tackles in 1966; a record that still stands as the greatest performance by a rookie linebacker, or any linebacker, really.
