The Atlanta Falcons have completely turned over their quarterback room in the span of less than a calendar year, swapping out Desmond Ridder, Taylor Heinicke, and Logan Woodside for Kirk Cousins, Michael Penix, and a quarterback we can expect to join the practice squad or roster in the near future. The final remaining piece was Heinicke, who made the roster as the team’s third quarterback after playing the majority of the team’s preseason snaps under center, but he has now been traded.
Per reporters Diana Russini and Josh Kendall of The Athletic, Heinicke is headed to the Chargers for a conditional sixth-round pick.
