The Atlanta Falcons are releasing veteran defensive tackle Tyson Jackson, a league source told ESPN.com
Jackson spent the last three seasons with the Falcons after signing a five-year, $25 million contract that included $11 million guaranteed. He is being released with two years and $8.5 million left on his deal, which will save the Falcons $2.65 million against this year's cap. He carried a $5.85 cap number for 2017.
The Falcons plan to address the defensive line in free agency and the draft. They already took a look at defensive tackle Earl Mitchell when Mitchell was released by the Dolphins, but Mitchell signed a four-year, $16 million deal with San Francisco.
