Special teams play can make or break entire games. The Falcons’ unit has been consistently solid under coordinator Marquice Williams, and Williams has an interesting philosophy around scheme.
“At the end of the day, our players are our scheme,” said Williams on Thursday.
“It’s our job to just put our players in the best position possible, to make them use their athletic abilities and attributes to the best of their advantage to help our defense with great field position, and help our offense with even better field position,” he continued.
“Our players are our scheme” may sound like just standard coach speak, but it means something to the specialists.
