FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Tight end Austin Hooper, the Atlanta Falcons' third-round draft pick from Stanford, caught wind of quarterback Matt Ryan referring to him as "California Cool" following Sunday's victory against Green Bay.
"My mom sent me that article," Hooper said with a laugh. "I thought it was pretty funny."
Ryan explained how Hooper, a Cali native, expresses a calm demeanor on the field as if he has no pulse. So the "California Cool" reference seems appropriate.
Right?
"It came from QB 1, so I can't really argue," Hooper said.
