FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The deadly flooding in Louisiana has encouraged Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert Alford to make a difference.
Alford, from Hammond, Louisiana, located 45 west of heavily impacted Baton Rouge, already reached out to several contacts about providing relief for flood victims. A total of 13 people have been killed. More than 60,000 residents have been displaced, with 30,000 rescued and 2,600 in shelters. Forty state highways have been closed.
The tragedy hit even closer to home since Alford's "god-brother" and training partner, former NFL player and ESPN personality Ryan Clark, lives in Baton Rouge.
