Today the Falcons have promoted safety Sharrod Neasman to the active roster, while placing defensive end Derrick Shelby on injured reserve (achillies).
Neasman joined the Falcons as a college free agent following the draft out of Florida Atlantic. He was a team captain as a senior in 2015 for the Owls, and he was also named the team’s 2015 Student-Athlete of the Year. Neasman has spent the first six weeks of the season as a member of the Falcons practice squad.
Shelby was signed this offseason by the Falcons and was a solid contributor to the Falcons defense.
