FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – To avoid becoming the first NFL team to start 5-0 and finish below .500, the Falcons need to score more and Matt Ryan needs to lead beginning Sunday in Jacksonville.
While the Falcons (6-7) are ranked No. 8 in total offense with 374.6 yards per game, they’re No. 21 in scoring (21.5) after averaging 32.4 points in their season-opening rush.
They were especially limp in last Sunday’s 38-0 loss at Carolina, and scored one touchdown in each of the two games before it. Ryan has thrown eight interceptions and lost two fumbles during the skid.
