The Atlanta Falcons were fresh off an embarrassing win, if there is such a thing, over the Las Vegas Raiders. They had to pick off the last second Hail Mary from Desmond Ridder to secure the win, and the offense looked listless through the air in the extreme. By making the switch from Kirk Cousins to Michael Penix, the Falcons hoped for much better.
They got it. The defense smothered the Giants offense after allowing an early touchdown, with a pair of pick sixes and excellent coverage, and that alone would have given the Falcons the margin.
